Assistant Project Officer

Report to: Head of Operations
Location: Dar Es Salaam
Hours of Work: Full Time
Purpose of the Post:
To assist in the overall projects of Islamic Help Tanzania and ensuring effective methods are put into place so that the project’s operations run smoothly and to its maximum productivity.                   
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
-Assisting with the development of Islamic Help's overall projects
-Help support all project officers in their daily routine work
-Assist in developing full scale project plans and ensuring its proper implementation
-Assist the project officers in developing weekly and monthly plans
-Assist the Head of Operations and concerned project officers in the preparation of different reports including monthly, quarterly and annual reports
-Handle all necessary department meetings – preparing and archiving meeting minutes
-Developing, managing & enforcing project department schedules
Key Competencies:
-Must be computer literate with a good knowledge of MS- Word, Excel and Power Point
-Good organization skills
-Ability to communicate well
-Good command in English and Swahili
-Good analytical skills
-Interpersonal skills
-Initiative

-Degree level or equivalent qualification
-A demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and problem solving
-Ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines and adapt to change
-Ability to prioritise workload
Knowledge and skills requirements:
-Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to focus on multiple tasks at the same time. Demonstrate an understanding of the tools, templates and techniques used in the IHTZ project initiation, planning, development, monitoring and execution, and closing.
-A relevant degree qualification (BA or equivalent qualification) would be highly advantageous.
-A minimum of 2 years work experience in related field.
